About David
I started working as a photo-journalist more than 20 years ago. In that time, I don’t think my reasons for doing it have changed much. I love the challenge of telling a story with pictures; and there is a curiosity about the world that needs to be satisfied.
There are the people that you meet – the friends you make.
And there's the pride in having your work published in places as diverse as The Sunday Times, The Independent, Life Magazine, National Geographic, Stern and Geo.
In the beginning, 1987 Afghan/Pakistan border.

It's a passion about photography.
But my guess is that most photo-journalists would say the same sort of thing about themselves. Which doesn't mean we are all the same. It just means you'll have to judge me on my pictures, not my words.
